Commissioned by Trapcode, Potemkin
– Magnus V. Ostergren and Thomas Oger- invite us to discover this superb 3D animation video called Exodus
. The project was born when Trapcode asked Potemkin team to make a short film using their new plugin MIR. They accepted the challenge and came up with a way too complex multi part plot. Something dark and low-polygonal is threatening a whole planet’s very existence and an interplanetary exodus has begun, overseen by a lonesome hero staying behind. They hope that this is the first of hopefully many episodes in this tribute to 80′s and 90′s sci-fi cartoons and computer games where they establish the protagonists and a fragment of the time space continuum in which Exodus takes place.
Magnus V. Ostergren started off his career in 1995 with Commando Royale as a CG artist, started doing more design and creative direction, took a pause from film for a while and worked as a concept and character designer for an MMORPG, went back to film. In addition, he started up Potemkin and he is creative director at Shotbox.
Thomas Oger is an animation production coordinator specialised in management of audiovisual projects (classic 3d / motion capture / stop motion animation based) from development until release. He is also head of development at Shotbox.
